Tara Venkatesan, soprano, has performed with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, with the American Baroque Orchestra, the Wykham Consort, The Tiny Baroque Orchestra of Yale University, and The Oxford University Symphony Orchestra. Opera highlights include: GALATEA (lead) in the Handel pastiche Galatea, CLORI (lead) in Cavalli’s L’Egisto, CASSANDRA in Cavalli’s La Didone, THALIA in the S. Landi and D. Belli pastiche opera La Lira Muta. She has also performed as the soprano soloist in oratory works such as Handel's Messiah, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Vivaldi's Gloria, and as the role of the Peri in Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri. She is also a recording artist for Walt Disney India and is featured as the voice of Miley Cyrus in the film Bolt.

When she's not singing, Tara is conducting her PhD cognitive science research at the University of Oxford, on how music technologies like virtual reality, haptic wearable devices, and artificial-intelligence composition systems influence our sense of connectedness to artists and fans. She uses her research expertise to consult for emerging entertainment technology startups in the US and UK. She received her B.S. in Cognitive Science from Yale University in 2018.
