Josip Petrac, baroque cello, was born in Zagreb, Croatia. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance at the Academy of Music of Zagreb University, and was straight away very active as a cello professor, chamber musician and soloist. He won the first prize in the Cello Performance State Competition in Croatia in 1992. He performed in Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Slovenia, Germany, France, Hungary, Norway and Austria. He played with the Diogenes String Quartet, Sarajevo Philharmonic, Youth Philharmonic Orchestra of Zagreb, Narvik Peace Symphony Orchestra (Norway), etc. Recently he moved to the United States where he received the assistantship for graduate studies at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
