It is quite remarkable to look back and realise that New Trinity Baroque has now been active for well over a quarter of a century. Since its founding in London in 1998, the ensemble has delighted audiences with vibrant programmes performed on period instruments, earning praise as 'artistically satisfying' and 'simply dazzling'.
What has remained constant throughout these years is our commitment to presenting outstanding music of the Baroque period with stylistic integrity, dramatic energy and genuine emotional immediacy. Whether in opera, sacred music or instrumental repertoire, we aim to bring the expressive language of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries vividly to life.
Over the years, New Trinity Baroque has grown alongside my own artistic journey, performing widely in both Europe and the United States. Today, the ensemble is firmly based in London - the city in which it was founded - where it operates as a charity (registered charity no. 1209719) and company in England and Wales (registered company no. 13788225). From our London base, we now regularly present concerts in the capital - most frequently at the Church of St John the Baptist Holland Road - while maintaining a strong touring focus that allows our work to be heard in a variety of venues across the United Kingdom and beyond.
We continue to perform on period instruments, working with specialist singers and instrumentalists based primarily in the UK, but also with those from overseas. We shape each project according to the needs of the repertoire, from intimate chamber programmes to fully staged operatic productions.
We are also deeply grateful for the artistic relationships we developed in other places and countries where we regularly continue to appear. Throughout the past years, New Trinity Baroque has established a number of residences - most notably at the Belgrade Baroque Academy in Serbia, where it regularly presents music workshops with leading UK artists. In this manner, NTB positioned itself among the leaders of baroque educational activities in Europe. For more information, visit belgradebaroqueacademy.com
Our purpose remains clear: to present baroque music with clarity, vitality and conviction, and to share with you the excitement and beauty of this extraordinary repertoire. For this we seek your help and support, especially in the growing UK market, where New Trinity Baroque is trying to establish its presence. I therefore very much look forward to welcoming you to one of our forthcoming performances.
